My Story
I lost my income overnight due to Covid. As a single mom of 2 boys, this was absolutely terrifying. I maxed out my credit card, line of credit & overdraft to make ends meet. I used the last bit of money I had to start my own business.
I consumed all the content I could, watched IG lives & downloaded the freebies & DM scripts. I was posting 5 days a week, showing up on my stories & talking about my offer every day…
But I was still struggling to sign my first client.
I felt like I was doing all the “right things” and couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong…
Finally I stepped back & identified the gap. I realized I didn’t have my ideal client in my audience. How could I expect them to know I was on Instagram, let alone what I did or how I could help them.
I stopped focusing on what others were telling me to do
& instead focused on what I knew would make a difference in my business: filling my audience with dream clients & building relationships with them.
At the time no one was talking about lead gen & engagement so I had to figure it out on my own…
When I started my business, I was a general Virtual Assistant offering every service under the sun (general admin, social media management & podcast support). When I started doing lead generation & engagement for my own business, I started posting about it on my feed. I got a lot of interest from my audience.
I listened to the overwhelming interest from my audience & niched down to focus on lead generation & engagement.
And that’s when everything changed…
I went from struggling to sign my first client to booking out my services in 2 months. I scaled to 6 figures in 1 year & have become the go to expert on lead generation & engagement.
I paid off 25K in debt & just bought my dream home for my boys & I.
